Biography

Margaret Kent was born, say, 1515. This birth year is a guess, based on her son Edward apparently being aged 21 or over, while younger son Richard was under 21, when her husband Richard Archer's will was written in 1554.

Margaret married Richard Archer and they had the following children (birth order not certain):

• Edward
• Richard
• Rose
• Mary

Husband Richard wrote his will on 10 August 1554, which was proved on 16 December 1554. In it, he made mention of Margaret and his four children. It is assumed that Margaret is the mother of these four children. The Visitation of Essex records Margaret as the only wife of Richard, mentioning only their two sons, Edward and Richard.
